Copying Applications From iPhone to iPhone

If someone you know also has an iPhone, you may want to trade for certain applications the have. Instead of buying these often expensive apps, you can simply transfer an application from one iPhone to the other. Using iTunes and a few quick and easy steps, you too can transfer applications to your computer and then to another iPhone.

The process for transferring apps from your iPhone to another iPhone is very simple. The ability to transfer apps allows you to copy apps to your wife's, child's or friend's iPhone so that they can use the applications without having to pay for them. This process involves transferring the apps from your iPhone to a computer and then from the computer to the target iPhone.

To transfer the apps from your iPhone to computer, open up iTunes library.

The iTunes library

The library from the target iPhone should be the one that is being opened. If you use the iTunes that belongs to your PC or Mac, it will produce error. To authorize iTunes to access your account information, you should select Store > Authorize Computer. When the Authorize Computer dialog box appears, enter your Apple ID and password. If you have authorized more than five computers, it will notify you. To deauthorize a computer, go to iTunes and select Store > Deauthorize Computer.

After that, connect the iPhone which contain the licensed apps to the iTunes. Next, right click on the iPhone icon in iTunes and select Transfer Purchases. The iPhone informs you that the transfer is in progress by showing the message "Sync in Progress". You will also see the files copying in the window of your iTunes menu. The transfer process can take some time depending on the number of purchases you have on your iPhone. When the transfer is completed, eject your iPhone from iTunes.

To transfer the Applications to another iPhone, connect the iPhone (the iPhone which you want to have the files transferred) to the computer. Under the Applications tab, check the applications which you want to transfer to this particular iPhone. Finally, you should click on the Sync button that located at the bottom to begin the application transfer process to this iPhone.

Following these easy steps, paying for multiple applications is a thing of the past. If you find a cool app on a friend or relatives iPhone, you can now copy it using iTunes for free. This simple trick can save you hundreds in iPhone app expenses!

Your iPhone's Convenient Camera Can Easily Be Fixed

You may not always use the camera on your iPhone, but when you do you're usually thankful that it's there. Although it may not be the perfect substitute for a full-sized digital camera, what it sacrifices in quality and features it more than makes up for in terms of convenience. Who wants to carry around a bulky camera anyway? You'll always have your cell phone though, and if you have an iPhone you'll also always have a digital camera handy, unless its camera is damaged or broken of course. That would be bad news indeed. The good news in that scenario is that you can buy an affordable iPhone 3g camera part online and fix it quickly.

There are a variety of things that could cause your camera to malfunction. As with most other issues related to an iPhone, the main factor responsible for damage tends to be an untimely drop. In general, cell phones are small and delicate. A drop onto a hard surface a distance of more than a couple of feet could be disastrous for it. If the phone lands on its screen, the screen will most likely get cracked. If it lands on its camera, the camera could get damaged. Even if the phone doesn't land directly on the camera, the shock of the fall could end up damaging camera parts anyway. Besides a drop, a camera can just get used and worn over time, producing less than stellar pictures after a while. In both cases, a new iPhone 3g camera part could definitely be in order.

Sometimes it's tempting to just throw a damaged iPhone in the trash. Whenever technology goes awry, it's easy to feel disappointed and almost betrayed thanks to the high expectations you had for it. You want your flashy new equipment to last forever but the reality is that no piece of technology is perfect. It has a shelf life and it can be damaged. It can also be fixed or replaced though. There's no need to blow things out of proportion as a fix would be fairly straightforward too. There are numerous guides out there on the internet that can provide assistance every step of the way. The only thing left to do is find a trusted web site to buy the appropriate iPhone 3g camera part from.

Additionally, throwing your phone in the trash is not the solution because the environment would be harmed if you did that. Almost all sufficiently advanced technology contains at least a small amount of toxic material that needs to be disposed of properly. The disposal issue can be postponed if that technology is reused though. If you buy a used iPhone 3g camera part instead of a new one, you'd be helping out in that process. The part itself would probably come from a phone that had damage elsewhere anyway; the camera itself could be completely intact and functional. You benefit by getting a great deal on an iPhone 3g camera part that still works fine, and you'd be doing something good for Mother Earth as well. Buying a new part is always an option, but buying used is an option to consider too.

Android Tablet Computers - Guide To Purchasing A Slate PC

A number of factors to consider when purchasing Android tablet computers include, size, OS, storage, and connectivity. Here is a look at these and other factors to help you buy the right Wi-Fi or 3G tablet PC.

Size

Android tablet computers range from 7 inch to 10 inch slate PCs. 7 inch tablet PCs are more portable and ideal for children and students because you can easily carry them in your backpack together with your schoolbooks. The 7 inch screen makes the devices better for reading ebooks than 10 inch tablets PCs because you can hold the device with one hand without wrist-fatigue.
10 inch tablet PCs are ideal for reading comic books, newspapers, magazines, blogs, watching movies and playing games. However, their larger size and relatively heavy weight makes them less portable than the 7 inch tablet PCs.

Operating System

If you would like to be using your slate PC to view flash websites, the ideal Wi-Fi or 3G tablet is one that runs Android operating system. The other touch tablet PCs are those that run Windows, Blackberry OS or Apple iOS. Apple tablets do not have Flash Player support, but offer a more extensive app store than Android tablet computers.

Storage

Most Android tablet computers come with 8Gb to 16Gb internal storage that can hold roughly 12,000 books. If you would like additional storage, you can use an external storage device such as a USB flash drive or a microSD memory card to store your content.

It would therefore be a good idea to check that the touch tablet PC you purchase has support for these external storage devices before buying. Another way to store your content is by using cloud storage. Cloud storage enables you to store the content that you are not immediately using online and re-download it whenever you require it.

Connectivity

If you would like ubiquitous data connection, you can invest in a slate PC that has 4G or 3G mobile broadband. Although Android tablet computers that have 4G or 3G are more expensive than those that only have Wi-Fi. They enable you to get coverage while you travel anywhere around the world.
A Wi-Fi only model will require you to be near a Wi-Fi hotspot to get connected. With companies like AT&T continuously growing their Wi-Fi hotspots network. It is becoming increasingly easier to get seamless data connection using Wi-Fi technology.

It is also important that when choosing Android tablet computers you go for a device that supports short-range wireless interconnection. Asus slate PC with Bluetooth or EDR technology will enable you to remotely connect your Wi-Fi or 3G tablet PC to your mobile phone, notebook and any other device that supports these technologies.

Touchscreen Tablets Explained

Touchscreen tablets are a new area in mobile computing. Designed to be the first all-purpose truly mobile device, they are somewhere between the size of a mobile phone and a laptop. They have most of the features of a typical laptop, including a powerful, non-watered down operating system, and provide complete mobility - they can actually be used while you walk, unlike a laptop.

Apple released their first such device in early 2010, which they called the iPad. Featuring a 10 inch screen at a resolution of about 720p, entry level models offer Wi-Fi and 3G, a 1 GHz Apple A4 processor, 16GB of Flash memory and 256 MB DRAM. This compares reasonably well with a typical laptop. Battery life is around 10 hours.

Reviews have generally been favourable, with popular US broadsheet writers Walt Mossberg and David Pogue describing using the iPad as a pleasurable experience. The iPad mostly compares well with laptops, except with regards printing and file sharing, which are clunky and not intuitive. Current versions do not have a camera, USB port or HDMI output, and cannot multitask, although this feature is soon to be supported with a software update.

The iPad was selected by Time Magazine as one of the 50 Best Inventions of the Year 2010 and the top gadget by Popular Science.

The tablet market is already being coveted by the big players in computing. Recent entrants to the tablet family include the Samsung Galaxy Tab which is little larger than a mobile phone and runs Google Android, and the Quaduro QuadPad 3G Plus Tablet PC, which runs Windows 7.

Asus Eee Keyboard Review

After nearly an year of wait, Asus has finally launched the Eee Keyboard PC in the market. Asus describes the Eee Keyboard as a small entertainment PC which features a comfortable QWERTY keyboard and a 5-inch touch screen. It is equipped with an Intel Atom N270 processor that was pretty popular back in the year 2009.

Other specifications include an Intel 945GSE chipset, 1GB RAM and either 16GB or 32GB of solid state storage. Since it uses SSD for storage, a little bit of rattling by the kids would not harm the data stored on the Eee keyboard. Prepare to be surprised, but is somehow packs two speakers too and even a built-in microphone. Of course, you get the basic components built-in too like the 802.11n Wireless LAN.

Since the Asus is marketing it as a home PC, it makes full sense to equip this little machine with a Broadcom HD video decoder, which makes HD video playback like a duck soup. Perhaps the most distinguishing part of this mean machine, something which is not a part of normal keyboards is its 5-inch touchscreen display that packs-in 800x480 pixels multi-touch display and HDMI output.

The entire weight of the machine weighs around a modest 1.1 kilograms and is already up for sale on most of the online stores. The weight of device is justifiable because it also has a built-in rechargeable battery for which the company claims that it should run for about four hours on a single charge.

How To Wisely Buy A New Computer

We are now into 2012, and your old computer just quit. Do you fix it or buy a new computer? If the computer is 5 years old or older, then probably buying a new computer is the better strategy. Many computers manufactured 5 to 9 years ago have hardware components that fail mandating replacement of the computer. Please read on to understand how to buy the best computer for your needs.

The first decisions to make in buying a new computer are very basic. By answering these questions you determine your basic purchase strategy:

1. Please ask yourself "How much can I spend?" The computer prices range from $200 to $400, $450 to $800, and $900 and up.

2. Next determine the computer type (or style) that works best for you. The types of computers are desktop, laptop, and tablet. These types of computers differ in their size, portability, and functionality. Desktop computers are the least portable. They are good for using multiple displays and heavy workloads. Laptops vary in size and portability. The big ones have 17-inch display making them luggable for occasional trips. Big laptops have most of the capabilities of a desktop but the computing horsepower is lower than a desktop in order to conserve laptop battery power. Similarly, the display is smaller with lower resolution than displays used with desktop computers. Tablet computers are the most portable. They can do a lot, but with a much smaller display. The tablets are a powerful, portable information tool that is one step above a smartphone.

3. Finally, the timeless question is: Do I buy an Apple or another computer? The other computer main selections are Windows 7 operating system or Android operating system computers. There are also Linux computers. Linux is free General Public License software operating system. Linux computers are equivalent for everyday users to Windows and Apple computers. The single difference between Linux and Windows is that with a Linux computer you only pay for the computer hardware which is a huge savings over Apple and Windows computers.

The market for Apple computers is tightly controlled. This means that Apple computers work very well with few problems. They are seldom attacked by malicious software. Everything an enthusiastic Apple owner says about their Apple is true. They are also beautiful looking computers. The down side is that they are expensive. When an Apple does malfunction, you have a big problem. If the Apple computer is under warranty, then you schedule a visit to the Apple store and wait in line to get it fixed. Also, you pay a lot for the repair.

In contrast Windows 7 computers are like the Wild West. In the Wild West anything can and does happen. There are many competing hardware and software products for Windows 7 computers. Windows 7 computers are the most malware, spyware, and virus attacked computers. Because there are more Windows computers sold than any other computers, Windows computers are the biggest target to attack. Apple computers also get viruses, but much less often than Windows computers. Windows computers can be cheap computers but they are not cheaper than Linux computers.

4. The final question is: What computer manufacturer do you like? Each manufacturer has its approach to selling computers. My preference is manufacturers that do not add fancy frills beyond the basics that come with Windows or the computer operating system. Most of the frills try to sell you something, provide functions that a redundant with the operating system, they occupy screen space getting in the way of what you are doing, and they overload and slow down the computer. For example, HP computers are like Big MACs, they taste great but come with a lot of software fat.

Lenovo computers are like a bank vault. They secure your data but are miserable to fix because of the security. It seems that all computers come with an annoying "dock" or application launcher. It takes up a lot of screen space and really adds little beyond what Windows itself provides. It is always cheaper to purchase a package than to build a custom computer. Purchasing custom computer parts is always more expensive than buying a packaged system from a manufacturer because the manufacturers purchase computer components in such high volume.

How To Buy Cheap Laptops

If you prefer to buy a used notebook rather than a new one, then you should read my guide first. I understand if you need a cheap laptop because we always prefer something which is effective, right? Only game freaks want to buy expensive laptops. If you need a laptop for your job, obviously what you need is a cheap one. Fortunately, you can find cheap laptop easily in used notebooks store.

However, you must also remember that used laptops are not as good as new laptops. Sometimes you can see a damaged power cord inside the used laptop that you want to buy so you should see into the laptop first, whether it has a good power cord or not. After checking the power cord, you must test the keyboard, speakers, and mouse. If one of them is not working, you should find another used laptop.

Another suggestion for you, don't trust the seller. If you ask him/her about the condition of the laptop, he/she will try to convince you that everything is fine. Force the seller to test the laptop in front of you so you will know whether the laptop is completely fine or not. Don't forget to check the monitor and the battery because these two parts are two of the most important components in a notebook.

After you check everything, now you should look inside the hard disk. Find what softwares that the seller has already installed into his/her laptop. If there is no software at all (except the OS), you might want to bargain a little more. You must also compare the price with other used laptops in eBay or other sellers. Good luck.

Buy Cheap Laptop Battery Online

When making a decision on buying a laptop, there are many factors to look at like the specifications of the machines which will include the processor speed, memory storage, random access memory (RAM) among others.

Despite all of the above, a good laptop is usually determined by a very valuable part of the portable device which is the battery.

The battery plays a very big role if the laptop has to step up to its portability status which can not be achieved when you buy cheap laptop battery which is not good.

If you buy laptop battery which is not good or is malfunctioning then you will be required to plug your personal potable computer throughout the entire period you will be using it and it will be rather hard for you to carry it with you supposedly you were to work with it in a place where there is no power like for example in a bums or train etc.

Due to the advancement in technology if you were to buy laptop battery knower days, they can sustain your laptop for at least three - five working hours none stop.

All these will entirely depend on the power needed to run your laptop and the programs you will be using at that particular time.

For those who have been through this can and shall bear me witness that there is nothing that can be more frustrating when your laptop battery can no longer retain power as it used to and you are trying to meet a deadline on an important job or assignment and you are nowhere near a power source, then your laptop battery all over sudden runs out on you.

If this has happened to you often, then buying a cheap laptop battery that will work for you free of disappointments is important.

Today, you will find many different manufactures that you can buy your replacement batteries from, but your biggest concern when making your purchase for your laptop battery should be whether what you are going for will be compatible with the part number you want to buy from your local dealers.
With this fact, you should not just go for a battery that will not fit your laptop computer so you should have knowledge of the part number which is normally located on battery casing, make and model of your laptop.

Pink Laptops: Buy A Pink Laptop

Pink laptops have quickly become the prominent choice in laptops for girls. Having your own pink laptop can add some flair, expression, and identity to one of your most used possessions. Almost every pink laptop computer manufacturer has pink laptops for sale - and many of them will sell a cheap pink laptop model or two. A lot of computer places also make hot pink laptops, or a pink mini laptop. The varieties out there are pretty much endless. But what if you are trying to research the upcoming purchase of a pink laptop computer?

In this hub, we will try to help you answer all of those questions and more, and help you decide which laptop is best for you and how you can go about buying a pink laptop computer.

So where do you begin when you're trying to find information and you want to buy a pink laptop? Do you go with a normal sized one or a mini pink laptop? What about prices for laptops with features like a webcam, HD screen, or Blu-Ray DVD drive? And are cheap pink laptops really the best way to go, or is it better to pay a little bit more for a laptop or notebook that will last longer and be a better deal?

Laptop Prices: Is Less More?

We all know that laptop prices, and prices for almost every technology, have come down significantly in the last few years. Some HP pink mini laptop models, and other laptops, sell for as little as $300, while others are as much as $1,000. HP doesn't quite have a free laptop but they do produce very well like models. However, let's take a look at the pros and cons of spending only $200 or $300 for a laptop.

First, don't confuse a netbook with a notebook. A netbook - also known to some as a mini laptop - can cost anywhere from $200 to $400. Pink mini laptops and pink netbooks are generally limited with features, can come with limited software packages, and some reviews complain at their size (tiny keyboards!).

If you just want to browse the internet and check email, then a netbook or mini laptop can be right for you. These laptops are very affordable and come with limited features - but who needs all that when your priorities aren't too big.

But for someone who needs their laptop for school, work, or wants to do more like use video, music, and any other added features, what can be a cheap, "cute", small laptop can cause headaches later.
What Will $800 Get You In A Laptop?

It is important to be careful and use diligence when shopping for a laptop because a lower price does not always mean a better deal: in fact, it almost always doesn't. Let's take a look at one of the middle to upper priced pink laptops and see what you can get features-wise.

One of the most popular brands among girls - the Sony VAIO - has a pink laptop that costs about $829. Compared to the cheaper netbook/mini laptop, this model (and other laptops in this price range) offers much more and will certainly last much longer. In short, you get more for your dollar.

Some of the more prominent features and specifications with this laptop are the power. The CPU is 2.13GHz.

In layman's terms, CPU size determines how fast a computer can work and how many tasks it can do all at once. The same is true with memory - a pink laptop like this has 4GB if RAM memory which will be able to handle a slew of applications including Photoshop, video making or viewing, webcam, etc. There's a DVD drive that can burn cds and dvds, a webcam and microphone for chatting with friends and taking pictures, and equipment that can handle a fast internet connection. This $800 dollar laptop also has support for HD video connections, wireless internet, Bluetooth, and a manner of other options.

Of course, there are many pink laptop notebook models to choose from and many features to choose from as well. This section is a snapshot of what $800 will buy. If you want more features and a more powerful laptop, it will cost more, while a less powerful laptop and less features will cost you less money.

Popular Pink Laptop Brands

Because of growing consumer demand for pink laptops, computer manufacturers have designed an extraordinary line of sleek pink laptops. Pink is a fabulous color that never goes out of style, and is now appreciated by men as well as women. Today's man is quite comfortable with pink accessories, it is not uncommon to see a confident, well-dressed gentleman wearing a pink tie or dress shirt, or using a pink laptop.

Your online search for pink colored laptops will lead to various companies that sell different colored laptops. Here are a few of the companies where you can buy pink laptops:

Pink Dells

A high-profile company with an impressive array of pink laptops is Dell Computers. One of the most recognized computer manufacturing companies in the world, Dell produces more pink laptops than any other company. Shoppers on a budget can find a nice pink dell laptop with all of the updated features for less than five hundred dollars.

Dell has a variety of pink laptops for the fashionista in you. They even offer what is called their Promise laptop that helps fight breast cancer. Five dollars from every purchase goes to breast cancer research. They have at least seven different choices in pink laptops in the Promise line alone, as well as a variety of other choices. They range from mini-laptops to bigger laptops with screen sizes from 9 to more than 17 inches. They have a price range of around 300 to 800 dollars. Dell laptops are known for their reliability, functionality, and sense of style.

When you visit Dell's website, you can customize the laptop that you choose with upgraded memory, a stronger hard drive, word processing, and virus protection all in the color of your choice. To add a personalized touch, various patterns can be purchased to enhance your new laptop.
Pink Sony Laptop

Another top rated laptop that is comparable to those made by Dell, HP, and Acer are the pink VAIO laptops by Sony. Sony also has several hot pink laptop Vaio models for sale on their website as well.

Generally costing about two hundred and fifty dollars more than the Dells or other similarly cheap pink laptops and notebooks, they are equipped with the same software and power, but may also have some benefits that are not available with Dell laptops.
While Sony and Dell both have a variety of pink laptop computers, they are also available from other computer manufacturers.

HP Pink Laptops

Does HP sell pink laptops? As previously mentioned, HP specializes in pink mini laptops. What is unique about these stylish HP mini models is that they are only one inch thick, making them extra easy to transport. Mini HP pink laptops are a great bargain for the money, with models available from around 250 to 400 dollars. Their Mini 110 Chic is known for having the largest keyboard in the industry. They offer approximately 9 and 10-inch screens, and have mouse buttons on both sides of the pad. The webcam and microphone both offer excellent clarity and they also come with a small but impressive speaker. HP also offers a variety of pink colored laptop covers to turn any laptop you own into a fashion statement.

Some customers who recently purchased HP Mini Laptops reviewed the laptops as follows: "Small and compact; fits perfectly in my book bag and weighs less than 3 lbs. The battery life that I have experienced has been awesome". On the contrary, according to shopping reviews on several websites some users have experienced slowness with their HP netbooks. This may be typical in an entry-level netbook; running lots of programs such as for video, music, and photos can require additional resources.

Update (5/10): In May of 2010 HP announced a new line of consumer laptops and notebooks, with an all-new design called "MUSE". MUSE, which stands for Materials, Usability, Sensory appeal, and Experiences, is geared towards the young and hip crowd as well as the savvy businessperson. The new Hewlett Packard laptops were designed by Tord Boontje, which is a design, firm based out of London. Among these spring 2010 laptop refreshes by HP included new HP Envys (available in pink) as well as HP Pavillion laptops. These laptops are available in 14.5 and 17-inch screens.

ASUS Pink Laptop
Asus has laptops in pink that can please both the businesswoman and the gamer. Their laptops range in size from 7 to 10 inches and range in price from approximately 300 to 500 dollars. The great thing about Asus laptops is that they are easily set up and don't require a technical manual to learn how to use. They are user-friendly units that come with an intuitive graphic interface as well as being very durable because of their shock protection feature. Speakers are set up on each side of these computer and they can be found in 2, 4, and 8GB hard drives.

It is always a good idea to be a comparison shopper when purchasing high cost items like computers. When you have researched the laptop that you want, visit three or more manufacturers to secure the best product at the best price. A little comprehensive research will help you to make an informed decision regarding price, power, and the different computer accessories when you are ready to make a purchase.

Hot Pink Laptops
Several places sell hot pink laptops for sale, namely Sony, Dell, and Asus. Let's take a look at some models:

Sony Vaio series: The E series Sony Vaios are the ultimate hot pink laptops. Starting at just $799, you'll get all the features and upgrades - pretty much more than anyone needs (like a 500GB hard drive- plenty for movies, music, games, etc).

Dell Studio: The dell studio hot pinks range anywhere from $500 to as much as $1000 considering what kind of options and features you get with your new pink laptop. The dell studios are just like any other laptop at first, except you add on a cover to the outside - in your case, a hot pink laptop cover! The covers are more like hot pink designs and patterns, as opposed to just a solid cover. Keep that in mind when shopping around.

Asus Eee PC 1008P: This 10" pink laptop definitely has one of the more stylish covers out of the cheap pink laptops out there. The processor is the same as others: 1.6ghz, though this laptop comes with 2GB of memory. Weighing only 2.4 pounds this hot pink laptop is definitely something to show off to your friends.

The laptop was actually designed by Karim Rashid and is meant to be "more chic" than all the other pink laptops available. It also is only one inch thick! Comes with Windows 7, Bluetooth, and high-speed wireless, and a webcam! One thing to know is that it doesn't come with a disc drive but nowadays with Itunes and netflix and other services you won't even notice.

Other ways to "make" a hot pink laptop? Just like you can apply a cover to a school textbook, you can also put a cover on a laptop. Many places make laptop covers and NoteFashion actually sells a hot pink laptop cover for just $11. It could be a good deal if you already have a laptop computer and want to turn it hot pink while saving up for a genuine one!

Cheap Pink Laptops To Consider

Keep in mind that cheaper is not always better - however if you are looking for a simple laptop to carry out simple tasks like surfing the web, doing homework, chatting online and keeping in touch with friends, then a cheap pink laptop could be right for you. Here are a few models to consider:
Disney Netpal by Asus: This Disney pink laptop sells for about only $340 and comes with a cute Disney pink logo and pink abstract pattern on the outside.

Though the laptop screen size is only 8.9 inches, the color itself "princess pink" is sure to please any girl. The laptop comes with a 1.6ghz Intel atom processor with 1GB ram and a 160GB hard drive; these specs are sure to be plenty of resources for an entry-level laptop. The laptop also comes with several security features such as website blacklisting and whitelisting for protection.

Lenovo S10-2 Pink Netbook: This laptop, though technically a netbook, is definitely a great mini pink laptop to consider. For around $350 you'll get a laptop with 6 hours of battery life - plenty of time, as well as Windows 7 starter edition, a 1.6ghz processor and 1GB memory. This laptop on Amazon happens to have a 4.5 star average review and many customers reported things like "beautiful, well built" and "pinker than it seems in the picture". You might want to definitely check out this pink laptop.

Pink Laptop Accessories

Some accessories typically purchased with a laptop or computer can include a laptop case or bag, an extra battery or hard drive for storing photos and videos, or even a photo scanner with feeder should you want to import all of your old photos into your brand new computer.
Want pink colored laptop accessories for your new notebook computer? Some places online such as Amazon or even computer manufacturers themselves (Dell, HP, Sony) may offer a pink mouse, pink travel keyboard, a pink laptop case or bag, and other pink colored accessories for your laptop.
Important Things To Keep In Mind When Buying A Laptop

Now that we've identified what $800 will buy in terms of features and specifications, it's important to cover some of the most important things that most consumers fail to always keep in mind when buying computers - and how you can help yourself when you go to buy your pink laptop. Here are the most important things to remember:

1. You get what you pay for. With laptops and computers, just like cell phones, there are certain price ranges and in each price range is a bracket of features. You definitely pay more for these extra features, and with an increased price, you also may be paying for durability and better materials (though not always). True, many manufacturers that have pink laptops on sale will have prices for slightly less, or maybe a feature compromise or two for a little lower price. Sometimes there will be rebates and sales and coupons. But the bottom line is this: you get more when you spend more.

2. The price tag on the laptop is always not the final price. While most online places offer free shipping, you can't forget tax costs, paying for a Bluetooth mouse, extra battery, extended warranty, accessories like pink laptop bags, and any extra customizations or add-ons you get. Generally speaking, you can expect your "final price" to be at least $75 more than what the price tag tells you.

3. If you want your laptop to last more than two years, buy an extended warranty. Warranty plans do cost more money but you will be glad you invested it when you drop your laptop, spill something, or the friend that you trusted accidentally knocks something over. Laptops, by nature, are mobile and portable which opens the risk for any kind of accident. Additionally, doesn't it always seem like things break just after the manufacturer's warranty ends? Nobody likes a broken laptop, and an extended warranty can help you prolong the life of yours and help get it fixed quickly if anything should happen.

4. Sometimes, patience is an important key to getting the best out of the money you have budgeted. I love instant gratification, and I know what it's like to want something now. But one responsibility of a shopper is to always do their homework when buying a laptop, and to always check prices and features.

Let's face it, salesmen have one job: to sell. Most salespeople will try and take you for granted by assuming you will buy anything that they can glorify. Naturally, companies will try to sell you products that cost the least for them to make and give them the most profit. While this isn't always the case, going into a store prepared and willing to check prices and spend extra time comparing models, you'll get a better bargain.

In Closing...

Ask yourself this: what kind of pink laptop do you need? For many, laptops and computers are not just about a want, but also about needs. If you are going to depend on your new laptop for school or work, then you'll want to make sure that you get the features and options that you need the most, even if it means paying a little extra.

Laptops

Computer market is getting bigger and bigger everyday, as there are plenty of choices to make when considering buying a new computer.

Palmtops, desktop PCs, laptops and a wide variety of different pieces of state-of-the-art technology may confuse prospective buyers, as the massive amount of available offers may be overwhelming.
As an attempt to make some things clear, this article will highlight many different features of the two most widely used kinds of computers: desktop PCs and laptops.

Everybody knows what a desktop computer is. However, not everyone knows a laptop, and frequently people mistakenly think that laptops and notebooks are the same thing. Well, the truth is that although notebooks are a kind of laptop, not every laptop is a notebook.

This distinction is made for two reasons: weight and peripherals. While notebooks are lighter, usually about four or five pounds, they not always include disk drives such as floppy drives and CD-ROMs. Bulkier (six or seven pounds) laptops include these drives.

But let's go back to laptops vs. desktop computers; which one is the right one? Well, this should be decided by you, but if you need portability you should choose a laptop. With normal size of 8.5'' x 11'' (although some new models are bigger, to include 16'' screens), these beauties are ready to be packed and carried with you all day, giving you the possibility to work while you travel, take notes while taking classes, or just make annotations while in the library. They offer you the convenience of saving space.

However, if you will be using your computer only for 3D gaming or setting up a powerful workstation that will be on most of the time, then the best choice is probably a desktop PC. They are cheaper to buy too.

The reason of laptops being more expensive than desktop computers is not, as many people think, that desktop ones are better or more reliable (in fact the majority of computer failures have been reported to happen on desktops), but resides on the laptop's need to be manufactured with components that must be small to fit into a small case, and at the same time be resistant to high heat levels and reduce power consumption to a minimum.

Finally, I'd like to say I own both a laptop and a desktop computer, and although this last one was cheaper to buy and its nominal speed is bigger, it failed some times for apparently no reason, while my faithful laptop has never had any problem and is just as fast as my desktop PC with a lower CPU speed.

Asus Eee PC 1008P Review

Asus Eee PC 1008P is a pretty cool ultra thin netbook designed to bring utmost mobility and on-the-go efficiency. Wrapped in phenomenally innovated hot pink, black and Brown coloured casings, Asus Eee PC 1008P looks much decent and tempting in the classic Coffee Brown colour. If you seek a slim and sleek netbook with an outstanding battery life, then have a look at Asus Eee PC 1008P which has almost everything desired equally by students, small businessmen and corporate executives.

Intel Atom Processor

Asus Eee PC 1008P netbook comes equipped with the popular N450 processor which belongs to the latest generation of Intel Atom family. The Atom N450 is 40% more power-efficient than the previous Intel Atom processors. Technically speaking, it is made on the 45nm of fabrication which means more transistors on the same die size of chips. With a clock speed of 1.66 GHz and 512KB cache memory, Asus 1008P provides reasonable speed and the new Intel NM10 Express chipset gives a real performance boost to multitasking. However, the memory part is not impressive where you see a 1GB RAM and 250GB hard disk for data storage.

Outstanding Battery Life

Asus Eee PC 1008P simply surpasses when it comes to battery power. Battery life is a major concern these days; people avoid carrying a backup battery while on the move. With Asus Eee PC 1008P you get an outstanding battery life up to 8.5hrs which would surely give a tough time to Acer Aspire Timeline Series. You can now work longer hours without worrying about second recharging.

Weight and Dimension

When it comes to the design and dimension, Asus 1008P is simply awesome. It hardly weighs 1.1Kg and depicts the height of Asus's competency in laptop manufacturing. You can conveniently carry this state-of-the art netbook anywhere without any problem.

10.1" LCD Screen Display

There is a 10.1" widescreen display which looks petty bright in daylight. With a screen resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels, Asus Eee PC 1008P delivers outstanding visuals. Enabling the auto-hide taskbar option will be more practical for long spreadsheets and some other graphics applications. Moreover, the graphics chipset of Intel GMA 3150 enables the system to play HD videos effortlessly.

Microsoft Windows 7 Starter Edition

This Asus Eee PC 1008P comes pre-installed with the Microsoft Windows 7 Strarter which provides simple solutions to all your basic tasks. The Starter edition has been quite compatible and successful with compact and slim line laptops. Supporting all the latest hardware and software, Windows 7 is more reliable and responsive than Windows XP and Vista.

The Bottom Line

Asus 1008P is best suited to people who want a good looking and better performing netbook but at a great bargain price. If you are searching for a compact, lightweight laptop with extraordinary battery, then choose Asus Eee PC 1008P without any second thought!

How to Buy a Laptop For Your Kids

Do you want to buy a laptop for your kids? Well, the truth is, It can be difficult to choose the correct model. There is a huge variety of laptops out there and any one of them could be the one for your kids. To help you decide, this article runs through some of the basic thoughts and factors to consider before buying a kid's laptop. So read on and find out more ...

1. Why Does Your Kid Need A Laptop?

The very first question to ask yourself is why your kid needs a laptop. Is he or she a college student and about to enter college? Then a good student laptop that is portable would be ideal. Is he or she just a high school student who needs to use a laptop for class projects or research? Or perhaps if your child is a pre-schooler, does he or she even need a laptop? Would a desktop suffice?
Think through these questions to understand why a new laptop is needed. Then you will be able to buy just the right one for your kid. We'll now look at some reasons why your children might need a laptop, then consider the appropriate types of laptops to buy.

2. For Schoolwork

If your child needs a laptop for schoolwork at the high school level, it is then a good idea to get them a budget range laptop. Usually, they would not need to access the laptop very frequently - hence all you need is a simple, budget laptop like those from Dell.

For college going students, they have a greater need for a better laptop. At the college level, you'd expect your kid to lug the laptop from class to class and also do presentations. Hence, a higher end, ultraportable model would be better suited for them.

3. For Gaming

Believe it or not, some kids want a laptop so they can play games. Now, in the first place, as a parent, I'd never agree to this. Particularly if they can play games on the desktop machine. However, if for one reason or another you need to buy a gaming laptop, go for those from Dell or Alienware - they sell very nice gaming laptops.

4. For Multimedia

Some kids love to dabble with digital video. Some of them even post videos of their travels on YouTube or cut a DVD. If your child is such a multimedia enthusiast, then getting him or her a good laptop with Firewire support becomes quite important.

5. As A Home Computer

If you intent to buy the laptop as a home computer to be used by the kids and your spouse, you'd best go for a desktop replacement model. These models have widescreens and very decent processing power to allow you to use the laptop as though it were a desktop.

Conclusion

I hope this article has shown you how to buy a laptop for your kids. Regardless of the signs that could signal your laptop is going into critical, degradation mode. Watch out for these signs and try to prevent them where possible - it could save your laptop before it really crashes on you. Until next time, happy computing!

Buying a Refurbished Dell Laptop

Dell offers a full line of refurbished laptops on their website, dell.com. Look for "Outlet Refurbished Laptops." There you will find a full range of popular models that run just as reliably as a new machine - for hundreds of dollars less than you would pay for new versions. This is because Dell refurbished laptops are inspected for "good-as-new" quality. The only differences are the red label on the bottom of the unit and a lower price.

Dell's most popular refurbished laptops are Latitude and Inspiron. The Latitude series of "notebook" computers is no longer manufactured, but is still a great buy for someone looking for an up-to-date machine. Latitude is an apt name for these models: they afford you great leeway in updating, expanding, or otherwise changing the internal workings of the computer.

With its black chassis and clean lines, it is a rather "normal" looking computer. It is a middleweight unit, but sized to fit any standard laptop case, along with AC/DC adaptor, mouse, floppy and zip disks, and other accessories. The Dell Latitude C600, CPX, and L400 are the three most popular models in the line.

The Inspiron series of notebook computers is still manufactured today, with some modifications. Slightly older versions are still a great way to meet all your computer needs. Inspirons are not quite as expandable as Latitudes, but, with their jazzy black-and-silver chassis, have a distinctive look. Inspiron laptops are also a bit more affordable than Latitudes.

Furthermore, Inspiron ranks among the highest performing laptops available, with famously long battery life The Dell Inspiron 1100 and 1150 are the two most common models in the line of refurbished laptops at Dell.

If you are looking to get the lowest price on a Dell laptop, look for one that uses a Celeron processor instead of an Intel. Celeron is less expensive, and also uses less battery juice, than Intel.

Should I Buy the Accidental Protection Plan For My New Laptop?

Imagine yourself standing in line at Best Buy to buy new laptop. As you stand there you feel yourself in the "outer body experience" of joy and wonder. You've been scrimping and saving for 5 months! You are actually holding the brand new unopened box in your hands! You can't wait to take it home, boot it up, and play with it. Your thoughts of bliss screech are interrupted by the teenage cashier who mindlessly asks "Do you want to the protection plan for this laptop? It's $199."

One Hundred Ninety Nine Dollars! That's like 35% of the total $799 cost! Wow. Is that worth it? I've been asked these questions over and over for the past 10 years. Ah - the protection plan. Every major big box seller has one. Best Buy, Fry's, Staples, Radio Shack, on and on. Always when you're in the middle of the purchase some type of sales person interjects one reason or another to buy their plan. Is it worth it?

Bottom line: I would stay away from any type of protection plan. I've never bought a plan for any laptop I've ever bought. In my opinion I've found that it's never worth the money. 5 years ago on Black Friday 2005 I bought a Toshiba laptop for $350 without a protection plan. 5 years later that machine is still kicking (the battery only lasts 30 minutes!). I never needed the plan. I'm glad I never bought one!

I just did some quick "Google Research" and discovered the same things I've always suspected:

1. Electronic stores make more money off the extended service plans than any other product. Most people aren't aware that stores only make 10% profit off electronics like laptops and desktops. They have to make up for that loss by offering protection plans and overpriced accessories! Come on, Best Buy charges $39 for a USB cable? You can get one for $7 at Walmart or $3 at eBay!

2. Protection plans are often outsourced to companies with very poor customer service. I've read that Best Buy is NOTORIOUS for not backing up the terms of their protection plan, and making it extremely difficult to even get the work done. Not worth it.

3. You have to wait 6 weeks or more for the defective hardware to be replaced. Waiting that long is not worth saving $150 or $200! You don't want to get waiting on poor customer service! Forget that!

4. You often pay for something you never need. Why pay for a service you probably will never need? It just seems like throwing good money after bad! Put your money toward good use!

5. You're betting the odds that you laptop will fail within 2 or 3 years of purchase. My experience has taught me that they usually last 4 to 7 years before failing. Ever heard of Self Fulfilling Prophecy? Since you're even slightly believing that you system could fail odds are higher that it will actually fail! Bad vibes.

Bottom line is that protection plans are not worth the money you'd spend. Save that $199 for your next laptop (in 2013) and be happy.

Before You Buy A Laptop

An IT store seems to have a world of its own inside it. Initially, you could only purchase new stuff from there. Similarly, these stores mainly specialized in selling computers. However, today they also provide iPod parts and iPhone replacement screen. Other than these gadgets and gizmos, you also get to find a whole range of laptops and notebooks.

Being a portable device, it is very useful for people belonging to different sectors. Ranging from college students and housewives, to different business professionals, it is everyone's need. If you too are thinking of buying one, make sure you know some of the basic tips before buying it.

Choose a store that is reputable and reliable. It is a good idea to consult a friend or family member who has recently bought a laptop. If you do not know where to find such a store, take recommendations from the people around you.

Select a laptop that is strong and solid, but not too heavy. Do not always go for the most attractive outer appearance. Choose the one that fits your needs and is easy to handle and carry.

Inside the device, you primarily need to check the pointing device. This includes track pad, track ball or any other alternatives for a mouse. If it is the first time you are going to operate a laptop, you will not master at these pointing devices at once.

Many of them also have an option of connecting an external mouse. You can use it until you are perfect with handling the built-in pointing device.

Next, check the keyboard. This holds a lot of importance because you cannot replace the keyboard. Therefore, it is better to check it for any flaws. A good keyboard is responsive and comfortable to touch. You can take it to a desk for testing it. After you do that, you should also place it on your lap and test it.

Screen size and resolution need a lot of attention. Make sure that the LCD measures from 13 to 21 inches diagonally. As for resolution, it can be as high as 1600×1200 or as low as 800×600 pixels, the more pixels, better resolution. Ultimately, this means a better image.

It is a good idea to check the screen in different lights and different settings. A screen might look perfect in normal room lighting however; it may not look as great in dim or bright light.
A laptop with at least two USB 2 connections is a great choice. Moreover, it should also have at least one Fire wire (IEEE 1394) connection. This is helpful when you are connecting iPods, digital cameras, phones and other devices.

Built-in wireless features are also important. You must make sure that the laptop contains a wireless network card (Wi-Fi) and Bluetooth capability. This is very helpful in data transfer and Internet accessibility.

Other important features are a CD burner and an anti-theft device. With a CD burner, it is easier to make backups for documents and music files. As for an anti-theft device, you can have a better security of your laptop.

When you enter an IT store to buy a laptop, make sure that you put a check against each of the aforementioned points to get a better buy.

Should I Buy a Laptop Or Desktop Computer?

Buying a new computer is a major purchase for most people, and the toss-up between a portable laptop or a powerful desktop is a sticking point for a lot of people.

I could discuss the pros and cons of each option, and then let you decide based on what option best fits your needs. But I'm not going to...

My recommendation would be to get a laptop.

Laptop technology has been evolving at a rapid pace over the last few years and the modern laptop has more than enough power for the average home user. While laptops will generally be less powerful and have less storage ability than a desktop of a similar price, the portability is such a huge plus that it's worth the sacrifice.

While desktop machines will generally have superior hardware, this isn't a major issue for most people. If you need more disk space you can always buy an external hard disk (that's if you ever need more storage space). The other aspects, such as a faster processor, and not going to be an issue unless you are doing very intensive tasks - surfing the net, sending email, etc are not intensive tasks. Just ensure the laptop has a reasonable amount of RAM - at least 2GB, at the time of writing this.

Wireless Internet means you can take the laptop on the deck in summer, or sit by the fire in winter (but not too close!). Or just sit on the couch and work while watching TV. The freedom offered is just brilliant.

I should add a caveat: this advice is for an average home user.

Buy Asus Laptops

Purchasing a new laptop can be a fun and confusing time for you. Gone are the days when you only had a handful of laptop options to choose from. Now you have more choices from laptops than ever.
Buying an Asus laptop, in my opinion, is the best choice to make. Even when buying an Asus laptop you have a plethora of choices to make.

Asus laptops are leading in the laptop computer industry for performance and durability. These laptops are drop tested, shock tested, twist tested, pressure tested, open-close tested, and vibration tested before being put on the market. Because ASUS laptops do these tests on their laptops and notebooks they have less of a recall rate and boast a higher approval rating than most other brands of laptop.

When you buy Asus laptops you will find that the styles of them are actually quite stylish, But just because the computers are stylish does not mean they are fluff computers. These computers are built strong and come with warranties and customer support. If you buy Asus laptops you will not be disappointed, I know I sure wasn't. I once dropped the computer on the ground and it still worked with only a little scratch.

These laptops come with the one of the best complimentary notebook warranties, are high quality, very durable, recognized for excellence, the World's first TCO'99 certified notebooks, and come equipped with the ASUS 360 notebook service program. This program offers a 2 year global warranty, zero bright dot LCD policy, have 2-way overnight standard shipping, and offer 24/7 phone support.

ASUS M4N82 Deluxe Motherboard

The ASUS M4N82 Deluxe motherboard comes in good packaging. Enough foam to keep it from being damaged during shipment. I definitely liked seeing it packaged well when it arrived.

The ASUS M4N82 Deluxe has support for a wide array of AMD processors.

There is three PCI Express slots. Every card I installed worked just fine. You can check temperatures in the BIOS and also flash the BIOS through USB with a built in utility. Best part is that the audio works without any cracking noises or popping.

I did not really enjoy where ASUS decided to lay out the SATA connectors on the motherboard. They are located at the end of the board so you will want to make sure you have enough cable to connect your hard drives. But this is not such a large problem, it can be worked around and ASUS cannot be expected to know where people have their hard drives located.

Back to the BIOS updating comment, you can supposedly update the BIOS before you begin installing any processor. This is good if you expect inserting a AM3 type of processor. I did not do this, but supposedly the option is there to do that.

What is very cool with this motherboard is that I did not bother formatting my hard drive and went right ahead and booted up Windows once I had the computer rebuilt. It loaded windows fine without a single problem. How cool is that? I would not suggest every person does the same though.

Android Tablets: 6 Clever Uses For An Android Tablet

Android tablets are this year's must-have tech item! Who wouldn't want to throw out their heavy old laptop and rock a shiny, new slate? Not only would you look super cool, but you'd also enjoy some of the benefits such as monster battery life, large colourful screen and Android OS's much vaunted usability and copious free apps!

A tablet PC is always going to be a Godsend during your commute, in the coffee shop or even in the office, but there are clever uses for these versatile tablets that you perhaps have never heard of and may raise a few eyebrows!

1. Portable flat screen TV - TVs are usually pretty large. That's OK if you want to watch a blockbuster in the living room, but what about if you want to take your TV with you? Simply attach a bit of Velcro to the back of your tablet and then attach conveniently-placed strips of Velcro around the house where you'd conceivably want a TV; perhaps in the bathroom, kitchen or in front of your bed. Stick the tablet in the desired are and voila! An instant portable flat screen TV!

2. Sales presentations - If you've ever stumbled through a presentation waiting for your work laptop to fire up and feeling embarrassed, then it's time to wow your customers or colleagues with a tablet. Tablet PCs start up a lot faster than laptops as they have less software to load and use flash memory instead of a hard drive, so you can pass round brochures, pictures or schematics in seconds.\

3. Restaurant menu - Eliminate printing costs by loading your new menus into tablets. Diners will be impressed with your set-up and can flip through sharp and realistic pictures of food and drinks in seconds.

4. Gallery - Save space with wall-mounted tablets each showing one picture or maybe a picture show of different artists. To change the theme of your show, simply load up your new pictures onto the tablets.

5. Paperless office - Help to contribute to the paperless office by using a tablet for any notes instead of paper. You'll also be able to instantly share notes with colleagues by email too.

6. Start a band - OK, tablets probably aren't going to replace musical instruments any time soon, but with so many music apps available it is now possible to make a band of like-minded people playing music with their tablets!

Regardless of whether you want an Android tablet for one of these 'less traditional' uses, or just for catching up on Facebook whilst waiting for your flight, then you'll be delighted to know that you can grab one at the bargain price of less than 200 dollars! But you won't find them in local stores at this price, rather you should search online for them and always buy from a reputable online store.

What Tablets Are Best For Gaming?

All tablets have motion and orientation sensors. While the primary use of these sensors is for auto-rotation of the screen, they are also used by developers in adding fun to their games. This fact along with great graphics handling and social media interaction make tablets one of the most popular gaming devices today.

Do you know which tablets are best for gaming? A gaming tablet should have a good screen, a fast processor and responsive controls. Below are the tablets most people consider when it comes to playing mobile games.

Google Nexus 7
This is probably the cheapest gaming tablet to date. The Google Nexus 7 is only $199 but that didn't stop it from becoming a monster when it comes to Android games. This tablet is powered by NVIDIA'a quad-core Tegra 3 processor and comes with a RAM of 1 GB. Its specification is enough for it to run the best high-definition games on the Google Play Store. Plus, it runs Jelly Bean, the latest version of the Android operating system. This version is optimized to enhance the performance of the tablet.

Besides the processor, the Nexus 7 also has a good screen. Games definitely look good on it. It's seven-inch built is also perfect for those who can't handle larger tablets very well.

ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity
The Transformer Pad Infinity is the fastest Android tablet in the market today. While it has the same processor as the Nexus 7, it is clocked at 1.7 GHz. The Nexus 7 is only clocked at 1.3 GHz making the Transformer Pad Infinity a perennial winner in tablet comparisons.

But that's not the only thing this tablet can offer. Users can connect their PS3 or XBOX 360 controllers on the Infinity which adds to the overall gaming experience. If you are used to playing on a PC, you should know that this slate supports a keyboard dock. Finally, you can connect the tablet to any external display that has an HDMI port.

iPad (2012)
There was a debate on whether the iPad is faster than Tegra 3 tablets like the ones mentioned above. Apple's famous tablet doesn't have a quad-core processor but it has a quad-core graphics chip. This means the iPad can still compete when it comes to gaming. Couple that with its ridiculous Retina display then you have one monster gaming machine.

Another advantage of the iPad is the number of gaming apps it supports. There are more high definition games on the iTunes Store than on the Google Play Store. This should have been OK if there are Android ports of all Android games but this is not so. Good games and superb hardware make the iPad the top gaming tablet.

Buy Cheap Bargain Laptop Computer - How to Get One on eBay

Here is a quick tutorial to buy a cheap bargain laptop computer on eBay. The first thing you need is to get internet access now. Assuming you are reading this, you have that access. All kidding aside, if you need to, you can get to your library, or even Kmart offers free access.

Go to the place you can get your internet access and sign up for a PayPal account. You can find them at paypal.com.

Next, you want to go to eBay. They can be found at eBay.com. Sign up for an account.

Once you have your eBay account, you want to search for laptop computers. You will no doubt be offered something like 12,000 offerings. And the offerings will be from all the major suppliers. You can buy new, used, refurbished, and even broken computers.

You don't want the broken computers, but there are still plenty of offerings. And you should be able to find something in the 200-300 dollar range.

Do not just buy the first laptop you see. Shop around. One of the things you may be tempted to do is buy quickly, but you should look at the items that have time left before the auction is over. Compare prices and features.

Decide what your budget is in relationship to what you want to do with it. If you are only looking to surf the web, and won't be running lots of programs, then you can find something in the $200-300 range. Check out to see if the computer is wifi capable. Now, it is usually a standard feature, and with all the great hot spots, you should be able to get free internet access when you are drinking our java.
Check out the seller feedback. If you are new to eBay, you need to make sure you buy from someone who has a good reputation.

When you find your computer, don't immediately put in a bid. Wait until the auction is almost over. Then you can bid. If you bid too early, you run up the auction price prematurely. Keep in mind, if you are looking at a great deal, you will need to watch closely when the time is near to end. Or, you can just use the buy now feature on many of the options.

Put in your bid, and soon enough, you will have your computer. Lastly, make sure you are aware of the shipping terms, and the credit terms. If you do not have paypal, or credit, you can usually buy with check or a wire. Just communicate with the seller.

So now you know how to get your cheap bargain laptop computer. Make sure you buy right.
